Carol Schram: Pettersson, Hughes impactful in Canucks return; Gadjovich lost on waivers Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes made an immediate impact in their first game back with the Vancouver Canucks after signing their new contracts, particularly on the power play. In other roster moves, winger Jonah Gadjovich was lost on waivers while 2021 draft pick Danila Klimovich has been assigned to the AHL Abbotsford Canucks.

Thanks Carol!

Gadjovich loss is unfortunate, but I doubt it'll matter in the big picture. Happy for him to get a spot on a NHL roster.

Thanks Carol.

I was impressed with Lockwood. He seemed to have a few players distracted from the other team.

That Kassian fight was not necessary seeing Smith was flopping again . Kassian is coming to the end of his career and should just collect paychecks instead of concussions.

Agree on Lockwood I see some Dorsett in his game minus the fighting ability, needs to become more reliable defensively like Dorsett did over his career

There was no trade interest in Gadjovich, a 2017 second-round pick who had a 38-goal AHL season, but has played just one NHL regular-season game. #Canucks

Bottom line is Van went 3-for-5 with its pivotal picks in 2017 — Pettersson (5), DiPietro (64), Rathbone (95). Whiffed on Lind (33) and Gadjovich (55). Scouts say if three of your picks from any draft play in the NHL, it's considered a home run. #Canucks

The writing was on the roster wall for Gadjovich, who has been claimed by San Jose. Winger doesn’t kill penalties and skating still needs work. Wasn’t going to crack a cluttered bottom-six mix that is providing lots of options. #Canucks

So with Gadjovich out of the mix, who does that realistically leave for the 3 remaining winger spots?
Petan
Chaison
Dowling
Lockwood
Di G.

Anyone else?

Ty Carol

So Barkov got 8/10m. Fair deal imo so Petey was fine on his bridge. Idk if he is quite as accomplished as Barkov so 8/10m wasn’t in the cards.

Great to see Canucks get some shine time & notoriety on NBC👍

Sorta tough loss losing Gadj but a sign we are getting deeper on prospects.

Really like Lockwood & his speed & pesky play. He’s almost earned his spot if not. He’ll help against speedy ops like McD. Upside is he could be ok producing points.

Petan has shown very well & is versatile & won FO’s. I’d say he should make the team til injuries heal. Chiasson maybe but cap is not in his favour. Lockwood over DiG but PK needs bodies. Dowling gets lost in the mix & goes to Abby.

You were saying this crow routine when Podz had a good game against Denmark in the WJ. I bet you are a premature ejaculator.

He's looked better the last 2 games however I'm not pencilling him in on the top 6 yet nor am I awarding him the Calder.
